About Faculty

The Faculty of Agriculture is the leading higher education and science institution in the field of agriculture and related sciences in the Republic of Croatia. During the past 90 years, more than 12,000 students have graduated and completed their postgraduate and doctoral studies at our faculty. Today, they are successful businessmen, producers, directors, scientists, teachers and ministers, not only in Croatia, but all over the world.

Our greatest potential is human resources with more than 440 employees (most of whom have high education), our material resources - modern classrooms, studies, laboratories, experimental stations, and the pleasant burden of our tradition.

Mission

Our mission is to acquire, develop and transfer knowledge in order to educate our students, scientists and experts. This enables us to enhance the production of food, industry, management of natural resources, and the development of the rural and urban environment, as our contribution to the total quality of living in the national and global framework.

Vision

Our desire is to retain the position of the leading national high education institution, and become internationally recognizable. We wish to take the leadership role in our region in the field of agricultural sciences and be a significant factor in the enhancement of production, processing, control and food, ecology, management of the natural resources, as well as creation and development of our branch policy.

Goals

• offer top quality education to students, that would be founded on the newest global scientific achievements;
• ensure the development of proper human and material resources by co-operating with the leading scientific and education institutions in the world;
• be actively involved in the international educational and scientific system, primarily through higher mobility of students and teachers, and international scientific projects;
• ensure an effective transfer of knowledge and technologies towards other users, especially to similar scientific and educational institutions; provide advisory services by organizing scientific and expert conferences, as well as creating lifelong education programs;
• stimulate excellence at all levels; ensure our participation in passing significant laws and regulations in the scientific, educational and agricultural fields through top results and respectability.
