With great suspense, we write this presentation for newborn
magazine “Journal of Central European Agriculture” (JCEA)
after all hardships of its creation, and invite you to publish
in this magazine. Social changes of countries in transition of
central Europe have brought major changes in agriculture.
Abandoning of central planing agriculture and introduction of
open market, creates need for quickest possible exchange of
knowledge’s. Countries in transition have similar problems
so, logical step is creation shared journal. Beginning of new
millennium and spreading of new electronic technologies
creates new fields of publishing and easier access to
knowledge from remote places. Except need for knowledge, there
is a need for internationalisation of problems, and keeping
and developing national languages for agriculture. We have
tried to combine such contradictory problems in one unifying
electronic agricultural magazine for central and Eastern
Europe. Not less important intention is to relax pressure on
present West European journals in agriculture, and give
opportunity to the scientist of Central European countries to
publish faster. Multilingual strategy of the journal accepts
world intention in preserve and support development of
national languages.
In editorial board from first number are included the three
members, Agriculture University Nitra from Slovakia,
Agriculture University Georgikon from Hungary and Agriculture
Faculty Zagreb from Croatia. From second year participating
Cluj- Napoca University of Agricultural Sciences and
Veterinary Medicine from Romania. It is present letter of
intend from Universities of some other central European
countries.
Articles
are published in English and/or language of the author.
Understanding is secured with publishing short and detailed
abstract in English and all appendixes in two languages. We
are primarily interested to publish scientific articles, short
scientific news and rewiewes from all fields of sustainable
agriculture.
We
expect that this journal will fill the needs for publishing
results of scientists included in scientific and development
programs of central and eastern countries in transition.
Beside articles, this issue also contains short abstracts from 4th International Conference "Ecophysiology of plant production processes in stress conditions" on September 12-14, 2000 in Račkova dolina, Slovakia.
