Volume 3 (2002) Number 4

The Annual Meeting of the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Central European Agriculture was held this year on 11-12 November, in Keszthely, Hungary. Discussions were held about the experiences of editing the journal in year 2002 and about future developments and possibilities of extending the cooperation of the member institutions. A decision was made that in the future stricter regulations will be applied for the reviewing process, this way incresing the scientific quality of JCEA. In order to facilitate the reviewing process an international list of selected specialists of various agricultural areas will be compiled and made available for contact via the homepage of the journal. A new national editorial board, namely the Czech National Editorial Board of the University of South Bohemia, Češké Budejovice was accepted as a full member of the International Editorial board, and this way now already five National Editorial Boards share the responsibility for creating a high quality scientific journal about the agriculture of the region. With this issue the Hungarian Editorial board is handing over the editorial tasks to the Romanian Editorial Board, as in year 2003 our colleagues in Cluj-Napoca will be taking over the responsibility for editing Volume 4 of JCEA. With the publication 13 papers in Number 4 we are proud to say that we managed to publish 4 issues this year, with altogether 44 papers, thus reaching the level of publication frequency we had originally aimed at when the Journal was launched. We would like to thank all the national editorial boards and also our authors for their cooperation, and the technical staff in Zagreb for their efficient and professional work which made our task easy and enjoyable all the time. We hope that our colleagues in Cluj-Napoca will find the editorial tasks as exciting and rewarding as we have experienced during the year, and will enjoy equally good communication with all of our partners.
