- born on 14th January, 1946 in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Hercegovina), where he finished primary school and high Medicine school. In 1972 he graduated on The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb. From 1972 to 1978 he worked on the Department of biology and pathology of bees and fishes on The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb as an assistant. He magistrated in 1978.
From 1978 he worked as a scientific assistant in the Laboratory for sea and molecular biology of Centre for sea research in "Ruđer Bošković Institute".
He defended his doctorate on Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb.
Since 1989 he has been working on Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb as a bearer and lecturer on subject "Bee-keeping". Since 1993 he has also been a bearer of elective subject "Bee keeping" for all other courses in undergraduate class. In 2001 he was elected full professor.
As a head investigator he leaded International project "Honey Bees and Their Products as an Indicator of Environmental Cesium Pollution", which was accepted as a support in the frame of american-croatian scientific cooperation. He is a head investigator on the projects "Bee-keeping in family economy" and "Selection of bees who tolerate varooa". He was a croatian coordinator of the project "Selection of Varroa tolerant honey bees on the isolated islands in Croatia", which was accepted as a support from German government which ended in 2002.
Attentuated field of scientific work is selection of bees, technology of bee keeping, bee products, ecology.
